The Erie County District Attorney's Office has partnered with EngagelT and Paragon Media One to create and maintain a website for Erie County Neighborhood Watch Groups at http://www.eriealert.com in an effort to create a safer community for all.
All citizens of Erie County are encouraged to become involved in making Erie County a great place to live, work and raise a family by posting any information that will benefit the overall community. ErieAlert provides an excellent opportunity to become active in the neighborhood watch program right from one's own home.
ErieAlert will soon be adding a Police Officer-of-The-Month to the website to allow any Erie County resident to nominate any police officer working in the County of Erie as a officer-of-the-month. Police ofhcers don't have to enter burning buildings or dive into a lake or pond to save a life, or be involved in a shoot-out to be a hero. Police officers engage in many heroic acts each and every time they perform their job. Simple things like consoling an accident or crime victim, finding a lost child, arresting perpetrators of crime, and bringing peace and safety to the community creates many unrecognized heroes.
With the help of sponsors like you we can honor many of the unrecognized heroes. Any citizen can nominate an officer-of-the-month by posting information on why the officer deserves to be officer-of-the-month on the ErieAleft Forums section of the website. Three of the nominations will be chosen to be posted in a voting poll in which citizens themselves will choose the final candidates. The winner will receive small tokens of appreciation such as gift certificates, dinners, theater tickets, etc for him or her and their family. Sponsors will be prominently displayed on the ErieAlert Officer-of-the-Month webpage for a period of thirty days. I have attached an example of the webpage for your information.
